R U A TURTLE ?

the Turtles...

First there are a lot of people who have been made Turtles.  And they all are    ::singing "who's a Turtle... I'm a Turtle... he's  Turtle... she's a Turtle... wouldn't you like to be a Turtle too... Turtle Power, I got Turtle Power":::

The International Association of Turtles, Inc. is a social organization that was to provide fun for its members while helping the unfortunate. The "ritual"or how the degree is conferred is not original with this organization, and all attempts to trace its origin have been unsuccessful resulting in only a wide variety of stories.

The headquarters was established in Sheridan, Wyoming.  The results were immediate and explosive with memberships pouring daily and eventually coming to the attention of the Post Office Department and Bureau of Internal Revenue. By 1965, after a few thousand dollars had been distributed to various charitable, the
International Association of Turtles of Sheridan, Wyoming
was formally incorporated and chartered under the laws of the State of Wyoming as a non-profit corporation.

In 1973, to distinguish themselves from "non-official" groups, this unique logo was copyrighted with the United States Patent Office. The International Association Turtles, Inc. of Sheridan, Wyoming was initiated by Stanley A. Kuzara who was responsible or setting up the Turtle organization.  As of January 1, 1996, there were 1,752,856 Turtles.

Now... I am sure that you're wondering what it takes to receive the Turtle Degree... you will be asked a series of questions that you must answer correctly... you will be required to have a clean mind while answering them... if you get all the answers correct... then you're a Turtle... and will be given the password... p.s. there is also a $2 fee for your membership card and Turtle pin... and NO... the funds are not for that trip to Disney that I've been wanting... ... it goes straight to the Turtle Headquarters...

NOTE: ALL TURTLES HAVE FUN!!!!

Now here is the catch... when you meet a fellow turtle and he asks you one specific question... you MUST give the correct response... otherwise the next time you both meet in a drinking establishment you will owe them a beverage of their choice...

Many have requested permission to establish local chapters,  and although there is no provision in the by-laws, there is no objection providing all the memberships are obtained from the Sheridan, Wyoming Headquarters which is charged with the responsibility of the distribution of all funds.
